- This war canoe prow figurehead is called a toto isu in the Western District of the Solomon Islands. Its functions are to ensure success in warfare and deter water spirits from causing the wind and waves to overturn the canoe. This figurehead is believed to have been made in the New Georgia Group of the Western District of the Solomon Islands. The New South Wales Government donated it to the Museum in 1895.
