This tall malagan figure originally had ear planks attached. A snake is held in front of the figure and represents the totems of the clan. The figure stands on a post which would have been used to insert it into the ground in order to be displayed at a malagan house. Purchased from Captain Farrell in 1887. Simberi Island, New Ireland Province.
