Malagan stylized figure carved from wood. The figure featuers an elaborate headress and holds two vievem in front of the body. The vievem struts represent the rods of the chair used to support a corpse when displayed as part of the malagan funerary process. Purchased from Captain Farrell in 1887. Northern New Ireland Province, PNG.
