Malagan figure carved from alstonia scholaris wood and ornamented with shell, resin, barkcloth and pigment. This tall figure originally had two ear planks attached. Birds are held in front of the figure and represent the totems of the clan. Purchased from Captain Farrell in 1887. Simberi Island, New Ireland Province, PNG.
