This painting on very thin Balinese cloth was probably painted in the late 19th century. While the artist is unknown, its style and composition suggest it may have been painted in either the Regency (administrative region) of Bangli or in the village of Batuan. The painting portrays a court scene (with Arjuna and Indra) from the 11th century East Javanese epic The Story of Arjuna Wiwaha. Size; 83x99cm.
